BarCamp is the inspiration for RootsCamp. If you are from the BarCamp/Geek world, consider spearheading a RootsCamp in your area.
Here's a short description on Volunteer for Change. If you have any questions or would like to sign up, just give my colleague Leah Adler a call at 415-369-2014. Thanks! -- Will
Volunteering Made Easy
In 2004, Working Assets recruited over 15,000 volunteers to be Election Day poll watchers around the country. Now we’ve created a new way to connect you with volunteering opportunities right where you live. If you’re a progressive organization, you can use VolunteerForChange to coordinate volunteers.
How Does It Work?
VolunteerForChange.org is a Web site that makes it easy for groups to recruit, manage and deploy volunteers. It solves a common problem for many groups — assigning volunteer shifts at sign-up, and also includes these great features: automated reminders, bring-a-friend, an easy-to-use e-mail interface, and a
post-event survey for getting feedback and making volunteers feel their input is valued.
