BarCamp is the inspiration for RootsCamp. If you are from the BarCamp/Geek world, consider spearheading a RootsCamp in your area.
Root Camp™, a grassroots educational and training resource program supported by Grassroots For America, in conjunction with Latinos for America and the Center For Progressive Leadership Action Network, is designed to help educate, empower and engage everyday citizens to be active in and influence community involvement in the political process on a local, regional and national level. By using Root Camp's open-source tools and resources we ultimately provide citizen activists with the tools they need and we can do it in a time, energy and financial friendly manner.
Conceived as a grassroots training resource "seeding" program, Root Camp™ networks with grassroots leaders and organizers and works to connect them through out the progressive community and local political party activism. Root Camp™ is also a place where activists can find information useful in navigating the sometimes intimidating roads of political engagement.
Root Camp™ is organizing on a national level to provide on-going support for local grassroots leaders and to help them organize and tailor local training programs in their communities. Root Camp™ will also, while working through our network, offer shared training tools and resources so activists can stay in tune with what is going on around them. Through this proactive and organic growth of sharing best practices and resources Root Camp will ultimately create a larger National Community Education and Training Concept. bizztra
Root Camp™ had the opportunity to participate in DemocracyFest 2005 as well as DemocracyFest 2006 event and we look forward to returning sometime in the future!
Please consider supporting open source resources by making a contribution to Root Camp™ in order to help support our online training tools, and the sustainability of our network. Please know that your contribution will be used only to support Root Camp online tools and all that they encompass.
